The Crucial Need To Clean Your Mattresses
We spend around one third of our lives sleeping and it is obvious that we would need pillows, bed sheets and mattresses that are comfortable for us to sleep in. If people are choosing comfort, they would obviously go for something that is also clean and hygienic. Just like everything else, mattresses also need to be washed from time to time because they accumulate dust and multiplying bacteria which could affect our bodies in the long run. Our bed is a place where we spend 8 hours every day and it is very essential that you keep your bed clean and free from any bugs.
The clothes that people wear are washed almost because they might get contaminated with sweat or other items like dust. As people find it important to wash clothes because they feel hygienic conditions should be maintained with everything around them. But when it comes to bed sheets, pillows and mattress people are usually very lenient. Bed sheets need to be washed every one or two weekly because they might accumulate mites or bugs which may result into bed bugs and might crawl into the mattress affecting that as well. At times, there are incidents of white ants as well which will lead to eating up or contamination of the entire mattress and leaving away traces of dead mites. Such incidents may cause a very foul smelling bed and the wooden framework might also be in danger. Whenever we sleep, our body sheds dry skin, which adheres to materials like pillows, bed sheets and mattresses. Bugs of the Arachnida family feed on dead human flesh, and might end up causing asthma or allergic reactions if not cleaned for a very long time. Such bugs and bacteria rapidly multiply in humid conditions and cause severe sinus infections, coughing problems and skin allergies.
Most of the times people feel that cleaning their pillows and bed sheets will be enough, but a yearly cleaning and sanitation of your mattress is also equally important. Since your mattress will be covered with bed sheets most of the time, dirt or bacteria won't be affecting it too much, but there is a chance of the mattress getting dirty as well. Once the mattress have caught the mites, it is very difficult to get them out and very expensive to keep replacing the mattress. Hence, it is wise to treat your mattress yearly and get it cleaned properly.
